Earth Day 2020

Today millions of people around the world were meant to gather together in parks, stadiums, city plazas, universities and schools to mark the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day! Under the current worldwide restrictions we won't be going out in person but we can still make our voice heard and rally together online #EarthDayNetwork. We encourage you to join us in one of the many virtual gatherings happening this week, either in your country or globally https://www.earthday.org/earth-day-2020/
Exactly one year ago we had successfully completed our internal training sessions with Global Green Events to create a sustainability policy for our office and our events. We spent the past year working hard with suppliers, hotels, NGOs and our community to provide more sustainable measures for our destination and within our industry. Beginning of this year we were all geared up with new food concepts, new eco-friendly activities, plant-based menus, a scheme to reduce plastic and food waste and an agreement to set off flight emissions with a local nature park by planting trees and maintaining them. We were encouraging all our clients to add value to their destination experience by adding a tailor-made CSR activity. We were excited to see all the positive reactions to our initiatives and were looking forward to a season full of challenging (and fun) events and incentives. The present situation has however left us challenged on a whole new level, but on a positive note we are finally breathing fresh air; in Malta alone air pollution has gone done by 70% compared to the same time last year. It has also given us the opportunity and time to slow down, re-evaluate and re-think travel and the meeting and incentive industry of tomorrow. If you are looking to #traveltomorrow and planning your next MICE event post pandemic, we would be more than happy to have a virtual drink with you and give exclusive insight on our destination and introduce you to our green meeting planner for Malta.
