At the recent World Travel Awards, the city of Porto won big as Best City Destination 2022.

Famed for its natural and cultural diversity Porto is a World Heritage City, best known for its famous Port, which is shipped from here across the world. Porto is a dramatic city basking to be discovered for its many intriguing stories, ancient culture, architectural monuments of past and present, and for its exquisite local cuisine and wines.

We spoke to our in-house expert Sofia Amaral to find out what makes Porto so attractive and popular as a city destination; not only for individuals, but also for meeting and incentive groups.

1. Easy Access

6. Design

In more recent years Porto has developed into a creative hub for design furniture, fashion, graphics, jewellery and industrial design. It is one of the few cities in the world where you can admire the works of three Priztker Prize winners – architects Vieira, Eduardo Souto de Moura and Rem Koolhaas. The local creative scene and architects offer themed workshops and guided tours to discover more recent architecture and design spaces of the city; offering unique and engaging visitor experiences.
