Discovering 3 Islands in 3 Days

A leading event agency in Germany, Intercom, approached ECMeetings to help coordinate three incentive programs for HDI Insurance Group. Two of the groups consisted of 75 guests in May and one group of 45 guests in September. The client was looking for a fun and engaging weekend program with typical local highlights, unique sea related activities, some cultural elements, relaxing moments and good quality, local dining. Each of the three groups only had 3 days to discover the islands and together with the client we wanted to ensure that the participants would have a rewarding and memorable weekend in Malta, enjoying the sun and sea, spending time with each other and seeing some of the main highlights of the island in a fun and relaxing way.

Incentive in Malta.

On Friday 75 guests arrived on various flights from Germany. They were welcomed at the airport and transferred to the nearby Hilton Malta in St. Julian’s. In the evening guests were accompanied by walk to Spinola Bay for a typical Maltese dinner by the seaside. The following morning two Turkish gullets berthed at the hotel for a fun day out at sea. While cruising to the north of the island a teambuilding activity took place in the morning. By noon the boats arrived at Armier Bay for a relaxing afternoon at Baia Beach Club. Refreshing drinks and a typical Mediterranean lunch were served with spectacular views of Comino and the crystal clear seas surrounding the northern coast.

In the evening a funky, luxurious party coach made way for a fun evening ahead. An alfresco dinner was served at the popular steakhouse The Chophouse with stunning views of the capital Valletta, followed by an after party with a VIP area at Level 22.

The following morning guests were offered choice activities.

  • Discovery of Malta’s rural west coast on mountain bikes
  • Visit of the capital Valletta, a UNESCO Heritage Site and European Capital of Culture
  • Discovery of Malta’s maritime cities in fun electric self-drive cars and a harbour cruise in traditional water taxis.

A farewell lunch was hosted in Valletta by the sea, before some of the group departed on a flight.

For later departures a culinary tasting session was offered at the Dingli Cliffs in a family-run olive grove. Savouring homemade local specialties in idyllic countryside was the perfect ending to three memorable days on The Maltese Islands.
