We’re ECMeetings

An exclusive event for Siemens.

About the Event

ECMeetings was approached by a leading event agency in Germany to organize a special, exclusive event for 28 participants, travelling to Malta for an extended weekend in May 2022. Malta was chosen as the destination for its good flight connections, sunny weather, unique boutique hotels, short distances, exclusive venues and diverse programme options.

The Challenge

Malta was one of many destinations being considered for this exclusive program. The client was looking for a European destination, that could offer a perfect blend of excellent accommodation, cultural elements, local experiences, relaxing moments at sea and high quality dining options.

The Solution

On Thursday 28 guests arrived from Germany. They were welcomed at the airport and accompanied by a local licensed guide to the nearby capital of Valletta, for accommodation at the boutique hotel The Embassy Valletta, which is located in the heart of the historical city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and European Capital of Culture. A welcome reception took place in the courtyard of the hotel, followed by a dinner at the popular steakhouse restaurant The Chophouse. With stunning views of the illuminated Valletta skyline, a typically Mediterranean 3-course dinner was served on the terrace.

The following morning was spent discovering Valletta in small groups with a tailored street food tour of the city. This special tour tells the story of Malta’s cuisine and perfectly blends great food with history and culture; visiting charming sites, tucked away streets and the best eateries in the city. The afternoon was spent at leisure for shopping or to relax at the rooftop pool of the hotel.

In the evening local licenced guides accompanied the participants on colourful Maltese vintage buses to Mdina. When the sun goes down on the Medieval city of Mdina the winding cobbled streets light up with old lamps, that shine on stunning architecture and noble palaces from many eras past. On the ancient bastions with stunning views across the island, the Relais et Châteaux served an exquisite 4-course dinner at the Michelin starred rooftop restaurant de Mondion.

The following day was spent out at sea on board an exclusively chartered catamaran. Cruising by the ancient fortifications of the Grand Harbour, the day was spent around the crystal-clear seas of the north coast and the islands of Gozo and Comino.  Free flowing drinks and a buffet lunch were served on board.

In the evening Ta Betta Wine Estate opened its doors exclusively for a wine pairing dinner and awards ceremony.

The following morning guests discovered Malta’s rural west coast and the Dingli Cliffs on Segways, followed by a Ftira-Making Workshop (a Maltese specialty, similar to a pizza) and a farewell lunch in the small village of Dingli; offering a perfect ending to four memorable days spent on The Maltese Islands.

Client Testimonial

“The weekend on the beautiful island of Malta is over and the feedback from colleagues and external participants is absolutely positive. It was a very nice and relaxing break from everyday life for everyone, which was due to your tireless implementation of our wishes and requirements at all times.

Regardless of our wishes, you were always present as our contact person and thus made the trip a complete success. Thank you very much for that!”

A special thanks also to The Embassy Hotel Valletta:

‘’Thank you once again for you endless support in making our event a success.

The very personal check-in, welcoming of our guests in German and the endless efforts of your reception colleagues with room changes, midnight special requests, keeping the bar open and last minute requests, are very much appreciated.

Without your support this trip would not have been as successful as it was.

Thank you!”
