A leading UK-based event agency partnered with ECMeetings Portugal to design and deliver a series of five back-to-back, nature-focused incentive programs for a client in the technology sector. Each group of approximately 50 participants spent three nights on São Miguel Island, Azores, experiencing a custom-crafted itinerary that blended adventure, wellness, sustainability, and seamless logistics.

Raw nature, seamless delivery
Located in the heart of the Atlantic, the Azores are a hidden gem for nature lovers and incentive travellers looking for immersive, authentic experiences. Arrival & rooftop welcome in Ponta Delgada
Guests were welcomed at the modern and stylish Octant Ponta Delgada 5-star hotel, located right by the marina. The program kicked off with an exclusive rooftop networking dinner, complete with live cooking stations, flowing drinks, and panoramic views of the Atlantic—creating an inviting and informal environment for guests to connect and settle in.
Off-road adventures, pineapples & natural wellness
The first full day brought participants into the island’s wild interior with a private Jeep safari through lush volcanic terrain en route to the famous Sete Cidades crater lakes.

Afternoon activities – rotational format:
Guests were divided into smaller groups and rotated through two signature outdoor experiences:
Kayaking on the crater lake, led by local instructors in smooth, staggered waves
Guided trekking through forest trails, offering panoramic lookouts and immersive contact with nature
To end the day, guests had the option to return to Caldeira Velha for a restorative soak in its natural hot springs, a soothing reward after an active day outdoors.
Evening Experience:
Dinner was served at a local fine-casual restaurant, blending Azorean flavours with a relaxed atmosphere.
Whale watching & seaside celebration
On the final day, the focus shifted to the Atlantic Ocean—a defining element of the Azorean experience. Guests boarded an exclusive private catamaran for a whale and dolphin watching tour, led by a marine biologist.
With soft drinks, local pastries, and breath-taking scenery onboard, the cruise delivered both excitement and relaxation in equal measure.
Evening Experience:
The farewell dinner took place at a pier-side restaurant, offering authentic local cuisine in a coastal setting. The celebration continued with drinks at one of Ponta Delgada’s lively bars, ending the program on a high note.
