Destination management careers across Europe
Move from hotels, venues or hospitality into a role where you help shape the entire programme on behalf of the client.
ECMeetings is a destination management company (DMC) designing and delivering corporate events, incentive programmes, and luxury experiences across Europe. We work with some of the world’s most recognised brands, and we’re growing — into new European destinations, new services, and a bigger team. If you’ve worked in hotels, venues, or hospitality and you’re looking for a role that exposes you to the full MICE industry — clients, suppliers, destinations — this is that job.
What the work actually looks like
One week you might be coordinating logistics on Lake Como. Next, you’re reviewing a gala dinner menu course by course, briefing suppliers, or quietly solving a problem before anyone else even knows it’s there. Programmes run across multiple destinations, often for globally recognised luxury brands, and almost always include some combination of:
- Welcome receptions and gala dinners with exacting requirements
- Bespoke gifts and exclusive experiences designed for the group
- Private transfers, including boats, vintage cars, and helicopters where the brief calls for it
- Satellite events — private tours, meals in unique locations, and one-off experiences you won’t find in a supplier brochure
- Last-minute changes when the weather, the client, or the programme has other plans
Discretion is part of the job. Some of the best work we do, we don’t talk about publicly.
Why work at a DMC, not a hotel
In the MICE industry, you sit on the agency side. You move from delivering one part of the experience to managing the full programme on the client’s behalf. That changes everything.
- You work with the best suppliers in the world on every project, in every destination, rather than being one of them.
- You see the full programme — commercial, creative, logistical — rather than one slice of it.
- Every project is different. No two weeks look the same, and almost nothing is repeatable.
- You build a network and a craft that transfers anywhere in the global events industry.
For people who’ve spent time in hotels, venues, or DMCs and want more range, more ownership, and more exposure to the client side, this is the move.
Who thrives here
We hire for craft, judgement, and pace. You’ll probably recognise yourself in some of this:
- You stay calm when the programme changes at 6pm the night before.
- You care about the details other people don’t notice.
- You’re comfortable briefing suppliers at the highest level — and pushing back when something isn’t right.
- You can hold a client’s trust with the kind of discretion that luxury work requires.
- You’d rather have a varied, hands-on week than a predictable one.
You don’t need to have done all of this. You need to want to.

A note from the team
“Some weeks, my office is Lake Como. Earlier this month, we delivered a multi-day programme for a globally renowned luxury brand — a welcome reception at a beautiful villa, a gala dinner with every menu detail dialled in, bespoke gifts, and a few moments I’ll keep to myself. Heavy rain meant moving parts of the programme indoors at the last minute. We adapted, and the guest experience never missed a beat. That’s what the work looks like. If it sounds like your kind of week, we’d love to hear from you.” — Cassandra Rass, Events Manager, ECMeetings
