Pre event Planning
The client was looking for a destination which would be ideal to host a conference as well as an incentive.
This is where Malta and ECMeetings came in as together with the client we prepared a programme which had a balance between providing the optimum environment for the delegates to work hard but at the same time provide enough time for the team to relax and have some fun.
On arrival in Malta the guests were greeted by our guides who escorted them on a drive through tour of Valletta. This introduction to Malta gave the guests some insight into our history and culture and allowed the guests to form an initial impression of the island. Having seen the present capital city it was apt that they also visit the old capital city. For this reason dinner was organised in Mdina so that the group could take in the serene feel of this beautiful walled city while at the same time indulging in divine cuisine. Hard work followed a relaxing evening but the group were rewarded again at night with a lavish banquet at one of Malta’s most prestigious venues – La Valette Hall. Although traditional, the knight’s welcome was a great surprise and having the newcomers to the company participate in an initiation dance was the source of much laughter and fun. The highlight of the event had to be the Fort Boyard teambuilding activity which was organised at Fort Manoel. Starting the activity off with a speedboat ride created the hype that was necessary for these games. With delegates climbing up walls, stretching through tight ropes, firing cannons balls and pushing themselves to the limit to arrive at the gold first was one day they will never forget. To balance out the excitement and adrenaline a relaxed lunch was served on board a gullet in Malta’s picturesque Grand Harbour. But the day would not end here as delegates were treated to a final night of spectacular shows and entertainment. With both local and foreign entertainers the evening was in the delegates’ words ‘fantastic’ with an impressive paper show as the Grand Finale.
Post Event Analysis
It was clear from the feedback by the delegates that there was a good balance between work and play. The group returned home refreshed, re-energised and geared up for the months of work to come.
